Temporary inboxes, fewer long-term identity traces.

Task duration planner

How long can a temporary email be used? It depends on whenthe task ends.

FwdRelay addresses are valid for 3 hours by default. You can extend them, but their total lifetime cannot exceed 24 hours. Enter how long you expect to need the inbox, and the planner will tell you whether to keep using a temporary address.

3h

The default window works for verification codes, short-term downloads, and one-time sign-ups. If confirmation or recovery may happen tomorrow, switch to a lasting entry point ahead of time.

Duration planner

Consider the wait time and account lifetime together.

The result is a scenario recommendation, not a promise about third-party sending times. For important emails, allow time for resending and human support.

How long do you expect to need the inbox?

3 hours

Three hours should be enough: keep the page open and replace the address when you’re done.

Three time limits

An address’s lifetime, email delivery, and account recovery run on different clocks.

Many “address expired” problems actually come from mixing up different timeframes. Consider these three timelines separately when planning.

Address validity window

The countdown shows how long the temporary address can continue receiving mail. You must extend it while the address is still valid, and its total lifetime is capped at 24 hours.

Sender platform waiting window

Verification codes usually arrive within minutes, but queues, greylisting, and retries can cause delays. Sending only shortly before the address expires leaves less room to troubleshoot.

Account lifetime ahead

Verifying an account once today does not mean you will never need to recover it. If the account will remain active for months, its email entry point should be under lasting control.

Extend or replace the address

Extend the same task; replace an address when the task is over.

If the task is still waiting for an email, extending it keeps the original address active. Once the task is complete, replacing the address prevents the old entry point from receiving unrelated messages.

Good reasons to extend

A file is still being generated, an event confirmation will arrive later today, or you have submitted the address but the process is not complete.

Good reasons to replace

The code has been used, the download is complete, or testing has ended—and you will not need this address to recover anything later.

Good reasons to upgrade

A subscription remains active, an order may be refunded, the account needs security alerts, or the relationship will clearly last beyond 24 hours.

Before-expiry checklist

Don’t leave important information until the last minute.

More than 30 minutes left

  • Confirm that the expected email has been sent.
  • Extend it now if you need to keep waiting.
  • Save any necessary information beyond the verification code.
  • Check whether the account needs long-term recovery.

Wrap up the task

  • Confirm that all verification codes have been used.
  • Download any necessary receipts or confirmation files.
  • Move long-term accounts to a stable entry point.
  • Replace or dispose of the current temporary address.
